Five tips for Hookah beginners

Every beginning is difficult, which is why we have listed the most common mistakes here. Starting with the head building up to the general handling of a hookah

1) The tobacco tastes burnt after a short time

Many beginners struggle with the perfect head structure and either uses too little or too much tobacco. Tobacco bowl building tutorials for each specific tobacco are recommended here. The charcoal should initially be placed on the outer edge so that the head can slowly warm up. Make sure to let the coals glow completely before smoking. Make sure the tobacco isn't too dry. In this case, it is usually sufficient to moisten it with a little molasses.

2) Bad smoke development or only a quiet "bubbling"

First of all, it is advisable to check whether the shisha is completely airtight and does not draw any outside air. The easiest way to do this is to remove the bowl and hold the head adapter shut with your fingers and pull on the hose. If the bubbling is too quiet, I advise you to check the water level in the glass. The dip tube should protrude about one and a half to two centimetres into the water.

3) Let the hoses hang after use

The used hose is often wrongly washed out after the relaxed pipe session and then packed back into the box. However, the hoses should be hung up in order to preserve the taste-neutrality of the hoses, otherwise they take on taste and falsify future taste experiences

4) Regular cleaning is essential

Regular cleaning and decalcification of your hookah extends its lifespan enormously, because the more well-cared for the hookah, the "older" it becomes. You can find suitable cleaning equipment under the Accessories category. We also recommend that you grease the threads regularly to prevent calcification. Use only food-safe fats for this and never creep fats such as WD40, as these develop toxic fumes when exposed to heat and give off a strong taste of their own.

5) ventilation your hookah room

If you smoke hookah in a closed room, you should make sure to ventilate regularly, because too much carbon monoxide collects in the room if there is insufficient ventilation. This can cause severe malaise, nausea, dizziness and headaches and in the worst case can be fatal.

With these 5 tips you are fully armed and can finally start your smoking session. Should you still have questions or other concerns, do not hesitate to contact our competent service team. We look forward to helping you.
